Cooking Team

These devoted volunteers prepare nourishing meals infused with love, care, and a heartfelt dedication to detail. They begin by transforming humble ingredients into a sacred offering of grace, mirroring the compassion of Jesus Christ. Whether chopping vegetables, stirring soups, or tidying the kitchen, each act becomes an extension of His love and kindness.

This team welcomes all skill levels, from seasoned home cooks to willing hands ready to learn. Together, we create meals that feed the body and uplift the soul.

Time Commitment: 2.5 – 3 hours before meal service

Skills Needed: Proficiency in food preparation techniques such as chopping, sautéing, and baking; strong ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff; and a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Age Requirement: Adults and teens (with adult supervision)

Meal Delivery Team 

The Meal Packaging Coordinator is responsible for assembling and packaging the meals designated for delivery. This role ensures that each meal is portioned correctly, packaged safely, and ready for distribution in a timely manner. The coordinator maintains a clean, efficient workspace and supports the kitchen team in creating a smooth flow during service. This position will work closely with the Meal Delivery Team Lead.

The Meal Delivery Ride-Along gives volunteers the opportunity to accompany our delivery drivers as they bring meals to individuals and families who cannot attend the soup kitchen in person. This role allows volunteers to experience an essential part of the ministry, understand the heart behind our outreach, and learn the process for future delivery driver training.

Meal Deliver Driver is part of a two-man team who drives to homes within the community to deliver meals to those who are unable to get out. Individuals must be 21 to serve as a driver.

Time Commitment: 2-2.5 hours during meal service

Skills Needed: Compassionate demeanor, strong communication skills, teamwork mindset, reliability, and a willingness to serve the community.

Age Requirement: 18+ years old

Serving Team 

The serving team at The Table of Grace Soup Kitchen exemplifies our hospitality. These volunteers greet guests kindly, offer meals with dignity, and foster a welcoming atmosphere. Their presence conveys care, respect, and the love of Christ in action.

This team turns meals into moments of connection and grace through plating, refilling drinks, and offering warm smiles. They assist with closing up the soup kitchen: take out trash, pack up left overs, sweep, mop, etc.

Time Commitment: 2-2.5 hours during meal service

Skills Needed: Friendly attitude, attentiveness, open-mind, and a heart for people.

Age Requirement: Adults and teens (with adult supervision)

Hospitality & Prayer Team

This team is the heart of our welcome. Volunteers greet guests with warmth, kindness, and dignity, offering not just a meal, but a moment of connection. Whether it’s a smile, a listening ear, or a gentle prayer, this team helps every person feel seen, valued, and loved.

This team will welcome guests as they arrive, engaging in respectful conversation, offering prayer when requested, creating a peaceful, grace-filled atmosphere, supporting emotional and spiritual needs with compassion.

Time Commitment: 3 hours during meal service

Skills Needed: A genuine friendly attitude, a willingness to pray with others, strong communication skills for engaging in respectful conversations about faith, an understanding of Jesus Christ as our savior, compassion toward individuals from diverse backgrounds, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for all.

Age Requirement: Adults and teens (with adult supervision)

Security

At the Table of Grace Soup Kitchen, our security needs are a reflection of our intelligence, compassion, and patience, ensuring a safe environment for both our guests and volunteers. We recognize that many individuals who seek our services come from vulnerable backgrounds, thus our approach intertwines vigilance with empathy; we prioritize understanding the stories of those we serve while maintaining a structured protocol for safety. It is vital to keep God at the center of our efforts, as His guidance inspires our commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of our space, fostering dignity and respect for every individual who walks through our doors.

Time Commitment: 2 hours during meal service

Skills Needed: A strong understanding of a keen eye for identifying potential vulnerabilities, excellent analytical skills for assessing risks, proficiency in security protocols, the ability to communicate security measures, a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, and the capability to create a secure environment that protects sensitive information.

Age Requirement: 21+ years old

Administration

Administration at The Table of Grace Soup Kitchen is the vital force behind the scenes. This role organizes volunteer efforts, maintains accurate records, and ensures our mission runs smoothly. With compassion and coordination, this team member establishes a foundation of trust and excellence.

Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week depending on season and needs

Skills Needed: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and a heart for service.

Age Requirement: Adults (18+)
